The Solis Choir’s Free Access to Music in the City project will continue to provide free monthly musical experiences for the local community, making high-quality choral performances available to people of all ages and backgrounds. The project creates opportunities for people to experience live music in a welcoming and accessible setting.
Singing provides a range of benefits for mental wellbeing, confidence and social connection, and the choir offers a safe space for reflection, creativity and community. Funding will allow the choir to continue its performances while expanding its reach beyond regular services, including opportunities to perform in public spaces such as the Barbican Lakeside.
Following strong community interest, including a Christmas Advent Carol Service attended by almost 200 people, the project will help more people experience the positive impact of music and create opportunities for singers and audiences to connect.
