🎵 Choral Singing in the City | City Chorus

The project responds to barriers such as cost, accessibility and a lack of inclusive opportunities by creating welcoming spaces where people of all backgrounds can experience the joy and wellbeing benefits of singing.

City Chorus is a friendly, vibrant, and inclusive community choir based in the City of London. Founded over a century ago to bring people together through the joy of singing, it welcomes members of all abilities – from complete beginners to experienced choristers – and performs several times a year across a wide range of choral repertoire, from classical to contemporary. The choir is led by a dedicated team of volunteers working with a professional musical director and accompanist to produce high-quality musical opportunities in the City for participants and audiences.

The Choral Singing in the City project includes free singing workshops over the summer, providing the Culture Mile community with a chance to try choral singing and learn techniques, with no experience necessary. The funding supports participation in the choir and a contribution toward the March 2027 flagship concert with professional orchestra and soloists to deliver a high-quality cultural event for singers and a 300-person audience.
