This is a community heritage project with the objective to reveal and map the forgotten history of the only permitted Jewish cemetery in England, a site of national importance which lies within the Barbican.
To mark this, a local community organisation Jewish Mile Squared, wishes to develop the first ever event for the wider Jewish community to commemorate this and also explore ways to install a plaque or map so that visitors can visit the area and have knowledge of this historically significant site. This event will hopefully raise awareness and kickstart wider interest and discussions surrounding a permanent feature for the site and they hope draw visitors to the Culture Mile area.
