Fortune Street Park Community Day is a much-loved annual celebration bringing together residents, City workers and local communities to enjoy a free day of activities, creativity and connection. Now in its 20th year, the event reflects the diverse character of EC1 and provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together in one of the area’s valued green spaces.
The event responds to the need for more shared, accessible spaces where communities can connect across cultures and generations. Activities include live music, storytelling, creative workshops, treasure hunts, magic shows, bug hunts, food stalls and family activities, creating opportunities for neighbours to meet, build relationships and celebrate their local area.
With support from the Culture Mile Community Fund, the 2026 event will welcome over 600 residents and workers with a programme including performances, creative activities, children’s activities, community storytelling and free food from local suppliers. Delivered by local volunteers, the event continues to strengthen community pride, wellbeing and belonging in a changing neighbourhood.
