Screening of episode 1 of the new season of Slow Horses

Last night at Barbican Centre, we were very proud to host a special screening of episode 1 of the new season of Slow Horses, followed by a Q&A with Mick Herron, author of the Slow Horses books, and Will Smith writer and executive producer of the show, moderated by Ranvir Singh.

Fans of the show and the books will know that Aldersgate Street, in the Culture Mile BID footprint, is a key plot location as the home of Slough House, with Barbican a frequent feature, and we were so pleased to be able to welcome some of the country’s leading creatives and some of our top stakeholders to our patch for what was a fantastic evening!

Ranvir, Mick and Will talked about Slough House, and the part the character and “vibe” of the area played in inspiring the storyline. We hope the show and books encourage even more people to come and discover our little corner of London.

No spoilers here but after that first episode, we can’t wait for the rest of the series, now available on Apple TV+. A big thank you to the Apple TV+ and Barbican Centre teams for all their work on this, and here’s to bringing more movies and shows to the Culture Mile!
