📄 Art for All report Launch: Culture is not just an asset – it’s infrastructure.
On Thursday 3 April 2025 we launched the Art for All report at the Barbican Centre, highlighting the urgent need to make arts and culture more accessible for Londoners. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation.
⚪ Research from the report, part-funded by Culture Mile BID and delivered by Centre for London, reveals stark inequalities in cultural engagement across London, despite the creative industries being one of the city’s biggest economic drivers. Barriers like ticket costs, travel expenses, and safety concerns prevent many Londoners from engaging with culture. But there’s a clear appetite for it. That’s why the report calls for tangible solutions, like a national arts pass for under-25s, to make culture truly accessible.
At the Culture Mile BID, we’re proving that businesses can be catalysts for change. Through funding grassroots projects, activating public spaces, and supporting institutions like the Barbican and the future London Museum, we’re making culture a core part of London’s infrastructure.
🤝 Our thanks go to the Greater London Authority and Centre for London for their support in creating this report and to our panellists today, Rob Anderson, Shonagh Manson FRSA, Karena Johnson, Synthia Griffin and Koko Idiong.
