๐ NLA Neighbourhoods & Areas Awards Shortlist
Weโre delighted to share that the Culture Mile BID Public Realm Vision and Strategy has been shortlisted for an NLA Award in the Neighbourhoods and Areas category.
๐ Published in November 2024 and delivered by Steer, AR Urbanism and Authentic Futures, this important piece of work sets out a bold and practical framework for improving the streets and public spaces at the heart of the City of London.
๐ Following extensive engagement and analysis, the Vision and Strategy brings together existing strategies, public realm schemes and developments, articulating the BIDโs priorities for public realm enhancement and better connecting people, places and culture.
๐ค Developed through close collaboration with the City of London Corporation’s public realm team, the report aligns BID priorities with the Corporationโs project pipeline and wider ambitions for the Square Mile. It was shaped through input from our Board, Steering Group and Property Owner Group, reflecting the strength of partnership across the Culture Mile community.
๐ The document focuses on five potential areas for improvement, identifying opportunities for short, medium and long-term interventions. It stands as a blueprint for partnership working, showing the convening power of BIDs to set shared visions, align investment and inspire transformation.
๐ณ Already, the Vision and Strategy is informing live projects, from area-wide greening and placemaking activations to longer-term transformational change, demonstrating its value as a guide for sustainable, people-focused development.
๐ Weโre proud to see this work recognised by the NLA and grateful to all our partners who contributed to its creation.
