Wellbeing and Green Spaces in the Culture Mile – A Walking Tour
📅 Thursday 03 April
🕛 12:00 – 13:00
Join this free lunchtime Wellbeing Walk through the Culture Mile. We will explore the secret corners of an area steeped in 2,000 years of history. We find out why all roads lead to Smithfield and discover its important links with two English kings named Henry. We hear about the important role of medieval monasteries and their legacy.
We also track down rare species in a tranquil park, the perfect spot for a lunchtime sandwich. And we see how the Roman settlement of Londinium influenced the iconic Barbican estate.
Led by City of London guide and wellbeing champion, Sarah Williams-Robbins, aka Mrs Londoner, this walk is a great opportunity to discover landmark buildings and green spaces. It’s also a chance to spend a refreshing hour away from workplaces and computer screens to experience the real world. Take this opportunity to meet new people or to spend time with colleagues and neighbours in an informal, relaxed setting.
📍 Meeting point: Elizabeth Line, Farringdon. Gather outside the station, on Long Lane, opposite the Old Red Cow pub.
📍 End point: Barbican Station; District and Circle Line.
👩🦽 The route will be accessible to wheelchair-users.
