โช ABOUT the Midsummer Fayre โช
The Culture Mile Midsummer Fayre returns this July with a vibrant programme of events inspired by traditional summer fairs and reimagined for the heart of the Square Mile.
Taking place across three iconic green spaces, the festival brings together live music, performance, poetry, creative workshops, family-friendly activities, food and drink, creating opportunities for workers, residents and visitors to enjoy Culture Mile’s unique mix of heritage, culture and community.
From free strawberries and cream and traditional games, to flower crown making, live folk music and a spectacular festival finale, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
๐ต DAY ONE ๐ต: ๐ THE GRAND OPENING ๐ณ
๐ Tuesday 7 July | ๐ 11am โ 3pm | ๐ St Alphage Gardens, London Wall Place, Barbican, London EC2Y 5DE
The Midsummer Fayre begins with a lunchtime celebration in the historic surroundings of St Alphage Gardens. Enjoy free strawberries and cream, traditional lawn games and lively entertainment from the Urban Jesters as they roam the site with juggling, circus skills and plenty of surprises.
Visitors can also take part in a giant ring toss challenge and collect free food and drink tokens to redeem at later festival events. A perfect opportunity to step away from the office, enjoy the summer sunshine and discover what’s to come across the rest of the festival.

As the working day ends, Postman’s Park transforms into a vibrant midsummer gathering filled with music, performance, creativity and great food.
Enjoy live performances from award-winning harpist Valeria Clarke and traditional minstrels, be amazed by roaming magician Fergus Flanagan, meet magnificent birds of prey and get creative with a free flower crown workshop. Circus skills activities, artisan pies and summer refreshments complete an evening designed for relaxing, socialising and celebrating the season.

The Midsummer Fayre concludes with a spectacular summer finale at Finsbury Circus Gardens.
Bringing together the very best of the three-day programme, the evening features live music, creative workshops, interactive performances, food and drink, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. Meet Winston the Mini Dachshund and friends at the Sausage Dog Walk and Dog Show, enjoy a personalised poem from The Poetry Takeaway, create your own flower crown and enjoy live performances from folk band The Roaming Folks and the Some Voices Choir.
With a traditional hog roast, summer refreshments and a festival atmosphere throughout the gardens, the final evening promises a memorable celebration of summer in the Culture Mile.
