๐ฟ Culture Mile On The Street
๐ Tuesday 01 July 2025 | ๐ 08:00 Onwards | ๐ Aldermanbury, Culture Mile
On Tuesday 1 July, the Culture Mile Business Improvement District, in partnership with New London Architecture (NLA), will transform Aldermanbury into a vibrant outdoor space for rest, play and knowledge sharing as part of the wider London Festival of Architecture. Titled Culture Mile On The Street, the day long event reimagines how we use City streets whilst testing alternative uses for public realm and creating space for wellness, community and creativity.
Set against the backdrop of a temporary road closure, the event will showcase the key themes of Culture Mileโs work, bringing a packed programme of free outdoor activities to local workers, residents and visitors. With fitness sessions, planting workshops, street food, walking tours, live music and a Pride celebration, the event will offer something for everyone from early-morning yoga to evening festivities.
๐ Event Highlights
๐ง Yoga and Exercise Classes โ An early morning movement session to help you de-stress and stretch away from your desk, including a unique class led by a deaf instructor exploring sound, silence and the body.
๐ถ Walking Tours โ Discover the hidden stories and green spaces of the City through an LGBTQ+ heritage walk and a Culture Mile Wellness and Green Spaces tour.
๐ฟ Planting Workshops with Hackney Herbal โ Hands on sessions that reconnect people with nature through smell, touch and herbal creativity.
๐ฑ Phone Marking Station โ Get your phone marked with a temporary marker that makes it easier to trace if lost or stolen and difficult for criminals to sell illegally.
๐ฒ London Museum Play Cycles โ A pop up activation offering play, arts, sound and rest, all from specially designed mobile bikes.
๐ Pride Street Party โ An inclusive and joyful celebration to close out the day, celebrating community and culture in the heart of the City.
๐ Timings and Access
The programme kicks off at 8am with a morning yoga class and runs through to the early evening, concluding with the Pride street party.
