π€ What is ACT/ SCAN Training? π
- ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) and SCaN (See, Check and Notify) are national counter terrorism training initiatives developed by the UKβs Counter Terrorism Policing teams to help businesses, organisations and the public play a vital role in keeping communities safe.
- ACT training is designed to help individuals understand the threat from terrorism and how to respond. It covers identifying suspicious activity, staying safe during an incident and what to do afterwards. SCaN Training focuses on developing a security minded culture. It teaches attendees how to spot suspicious behaviours (rather than relying on appearances), how to respond effectively and how to report concerns.
π Why should I attend? π
-
Heightened Awareness: Learn how to spot the signs of hostile reconnaissance or suspicious behaviour before an incident occurs.
-
Empowerment: Gain the confidence to take appropriate, safe and proportionate action when something doesnβt feel right.
- Partnership with Police: Attendees understand how and when to liaise with police or report concerns through appropriate channels.
βͺ This training is ideal for any business or venue that welcomes members of the public and wants to contribute to a safer environment for everyone. An introduction to SCaN is included in the ACT e Learning and ACT Awareness products The SCaN for All package is also available as a self delivery if you wish.
