What is Ride 5 and the Bike Month Challenge?

πŸ“† Thursday 01 May – Saturday 31 May 2025

The Bike Month Challenge is all about helping more people discover all the benefits of riding bikes. This year, the Culture Mile BID have partnered with Love To Ride to launch the Ride 5 initiative to encourage riders of all levels to set goals, stay motivated, and ride more often.

🚲 How does it work?

The Bike Month Challenge aims to meet riders where they are in their riding journey. In addition to the app, highly customised emails, badges, Quick Courses, and tips articles will help you overcome any barriers to riding you may have and will motivate you to ride more.

Here’s how to take part in the Bike Month Challenge:

πŸ‘‰ Download Love to Ride and create your account. You’ll answer quick questions that assess your rider level: new, occasional or regular rider

πŸ‘‰ Log rides automatically using the app. Or, you can sync another riding app, or log rides manually on your profile

πŸ‘‰ Encourage others using the unique link on your profile or through the messages in your emails. If someone clicks on your link and rides, you’re automatically named as their encourager

πŸ‘‰ Join your workplace to ride up the leaderboard with your co-workers

πŸ“ How does the scoring work?

For every employee that hits the goal of riding five miles throughout May, a point is earned. These miles can be earned for any ride – for fun, fitness, to work, to the store or just around the local park.Β Every person who hits their goal will be entered into the draw for amazing prizes. The more employees that take part, the more chances of winning as an organisation!Β

Additionally, there are more prizes to be given away for rating your routes, encouraging others and riding for transportation!Β Workplaces compete against others of a similar size to earn the most points.

There are local, national, global and industry leaderboards to bring some fun, friendly competition to your workplace challenge.
